Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. Israelensis (BTi) is a naturally occurring larvicide specifically targeting mosquito larvae. This biological insecticide is produced through advanced fermentation technology and is recognized as one of the most widely used microbial agents for mosquito control. It effectively eliminates wiggler populations in roof gutters, drains, ponds, water features, and other aquatic breeding sites.
BTi is a naturally occurring bacterium with a highly specific mode of action against mosquito larvae. Upon ingestion, the parasporal crystal degrades in the larval midgut under alkaline conditions and enzymatic activity. This releases toxin active molecules that bind to specific receptors, leading to feeding cessation, paralysis, bowel perforation, and ultimately death from starvation and sepsis.
The parasporal crystal is the primary insecticidal component. BTi does not provide extended residual control; re-treatment is required to manage subsequent larval development cycles.

BTi is one of the most widely used microbial mosquitocides globally. Its active ingredients (Insecticidal Crystal Proteins, ICP) release toxins under alkaline conditions and through protease enzymolysis in the larval midgut. This process causes larval paralysis and disrupts potassium ion balance, leading to mortality.
It demonstrates strong efficacy against larvae of Culex, Aedes, Anopheles, Mansonia, and blackfly species.
When using this product, wear protective clothing, gloves, and a mask to avoid inhalation of the liquid. Do not eat or drink during application. After application, wash hands and face thoroughly and clean exposed skin promptly. This product is sensitive to silkworms; avoid use near silkworm and mulberry areas. Pregnant women, lactating women, and individuals with allergies are prohibited from handling this product. Consult a doctor if any adverse reactions occur during use.
