Working Mechanism
Ectropis obliqua nuclear polyhedrosis virus (EoNPV) is a specialized pathogenic microorganism targeting tea geometrid pests. When sprayed on crops and consumed by pests, virus particles replicate within the insect's body, spreading rapidly through all tissues. The virus consumes internal structures, causing feeding and movement cessation during infection, ultimately leading to pest mortality.
Newly hatched larvae consuming virus-infected egg shells perish after feeding. Virus particles continue transmission to subsequent generations and other pests through body fluids and feces of deceased insects, creating a persistent "plague" effect that provides extended field pest control.
