Working Mechanism
Ectropis obliqua nuclear polyhedrosis virus (EoNPV) is a specialized pathogenic microorganism that targets tea geometrid pests. When sprayed on crops and consumed by pests, the virus particles replicate and multiply within the insect's body, rapidly spreading throughout all tissues. The virus consumes the pest's internal structures, causing feeding and movement cessation during the infection period. This sub-lethal effect ultimately leads to pest mortality.
Additionally, newly hatched larvae that consume virus-infected egg shells perish after feeding. Virus particles continue transmission to subsequent generations and other pests through body fluids and feces of deceased insects, creating a persistent "plague" effect that provides extended field pest control.
