Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) has been used for over 100 years as a highly effective microbial insecticide. This naturally occurring soil bacteria produces both endotoxins and exotoxins that stop pests from feeding, leading to starvation, cell wall rupture, blood corruption, and neurotoxicity.
Bacillus thuringiensis var kurstaki (Btk) is ideal for controlling gypsy moth, cabbage looper, tomato hornworm, and other leaf-eating pests on trees, shrubs, tomatoes, and vegetables. Most effective when applied during early pest development stages, Bt must be ingested by insects as it functions as a stomach toxin. Safe for humans, animals, and beneficial insects.
