The genetic sequence of PfDNV

Periplaneta fuliginosa densonucleosis virus (PfDNV) was first discovered and reported in China by Professor Hu Yuanyang of Wuhan University. It is the first officially classified and identified cockroach densonucleosis virus at home and abroad. Like other parvoviruses, the virus particle is non-enveloped and has spherical icosahedron symmetry with a diameter of 22nm. The genome is a single stranded linear DNA molecule (ssDNA), the sedimentation coefficient is 102s, and the buoyancy density is 1.42g/ml. It can be separated and purified by differential centrifugation and density gradient centrifugation.

The SDS-PAGE of the virus particle shows that it is composed of five proteins with molecular weights of 52kd, 56kD, 79kd, 82kd and 105kd respectively. The total length of pfDNV genome is 5454bp (the pfDNV genome sequence has been submitted to GenBank, No.: af192260.1). The positive chain of the genome has four large reading frames (ORF), and the negative chain contains three large reading frames, which encode non-structural and structural proteins respectively.
