Working Mechanism
After ingestion by pests, Bacillus thuringiensis first acts on insect midgut cells, weakening the immune system and making the pest more susceptible to SeNPV infection. The virus then replicates rapidly throughout the pest's body, causing loss of crop-damaging ability. The infected pests eventually die and release virus particles that continue infecting healthy pests through body fluids and feces, creating a long-term pest control cycle.
